Statue Creatue Concepts

For my Mayan themed project I already have my next character planned after the Spaniard. A living statue creature in the style of a Mayan or Aztec stone carving. No final design yet but here are some concept sketches, some based of existing temple art.

Mayan Spaniard

This is my first character of Three I will be modeling for my Pre-Portfolio class. They'll all go along with my last post of the Mayan/Aztec/Spanish theme. This character is a Spanish Conquistador who has been stranded in the jungle but has had to have adapt for survival. Below you can see a before and after of his uniform and Mayan clothing. I will be modeling him with his Mayan outfit for this project.

Some quick color samples, I may go with more warm colors for him but his final colors will come later.

Kirin WIP1

*Edit* Well my group decided our game is going to have a Jackalope instead of a Kirin, so this guy is going on a back-burner while I focus on the Jackalope for now. */Edit*

Concept drawings and my side-view reference of a kirin I'll be modeling for my Prototyping class. I'm not sure on the final colors yet, but I am leaning toward more cooler colors for him.

Bust Model Finished


Final project from my 3d Modeling class last quarter.
These renders are screen-shots from ZBrush.

He's also bald since I wasn't able to create his hair before it was due. Because of that, his head shape ended up being sort of weird without a proper bald head reference.

Mass Effect's M8 Avenger Rifle

Class assignment. We were to model, detail and texture any gun of our choosing, I chose the M8 Avenger rifle from the video game Mass Effect.






All renders are screen-shots in Maya 2010.

Sword and Shield

Class project. We were not required to texture these models, just create a Normal Map in Zbrush. I would like to go back and texture them in my free time though. I chose to model a Mayan/Aztec inspired sword and shield of my own design.
